My rebuild kits didn't come with the main venturi, and the ones in the update kit are only for the horizontal discharge tubes and are of varying diameter.

The superperformance book (page 82 I think) says 1.2 main fuel jets with a 30mm venturi should be about right for a baseline. In the jet determination section he says that for a rule of thumb main fuel jets should be 4x the main venturi size. Based on the chart 30 main venturi is optimal for about 3000 rpms which seems good for the bus, and so 4x 30 =120, so 1.2's -that's how I interpretted it, anyway

It looks to me like 34 main venturi would be better for more heavy revving, like in a 914 or bug, as I rarely take it further than 3500.

There's got to be a way to make it run strong with what's there, since it was before. -Not to say it couldn't be stronger.

I think the problem right now is the needle valves. I'm looking for the gene berg ball bearing valve ones that you'd sent a pic of. :-)
