Bought a bug that the PO was in the process of converting from autostick to manual. I installed the correct shift lever and shift rod today, which is when I discovered that the set screw for the shift rod was on the bottom instead of the top. Asked around and discovered that I actually have a type 8 transmission! Managed to get the set screw in to hold the shift rod, but when I installed the lever, can't seem to get it to shift into all 4 gears. What the heck!
Long story short, can I fix the situation with the type 3 tranny, or do I need to buy and install and type 1 transmission? HELP! |

Type 8, type 3 -- what's the diff? OK, I deserved that for my stupid typo.
Alex77 -- Adjusted the shift plate how? I've tried sliding it back and forward, but can't seem to get any different result. Starting to think I just have a bad trans. Can't even seem find neutral. |
