View original topic: Air in the oil pressure gauge tubing?

I'm getting abnormally high oil pressure readings. Cold motor (20-40F) on 5w-30 will get me about 35psi idle (colder mornings it can be in the high 40s). Once the motor warms up it'll drop to low 20s.

I do notice there is quite a bit of air in my tubing. Would that effect the reading?

No, the air compresses and your reading is as true as the gauge. Do not be concerned.

Sounds normal to me.
