I'm kind of a weight freak / junkie and I like to know what stuff weighs. (I'm all about high horsepower and low, low weight)
For shiggles and to curb my curiosity I weigh just about everything nowadays so,
For whoever might care :
1969 Beetle front beam rebuilt and ready to go back in the car with :
All trailing arms and poly bushings,
Full packs of Torsion bars,
All tie rods, ball joints and steering box,
Ghia spindles and disc brake rotors (but no calipers),
Stock sway bar
and both shocks
weighs 145 pounds.
And when it comes off the floor pan and lands on your left thigh, it feels like a Hell of a lot more than 145 pounds.
Just in case anyone wants to know the weight - there ya go !
