Hi all,
A couple of quick questions:
1) Just wanted to make sure that this is a SVDA and not a 009
2) What is the diameter of the vacuum hose in the first photo (green arrows)?
3) What is the notch for in picture 2 (red arrow is pointing to it...yellow arrow is pointing to cylinder #1 tick mark)?

Distributor is a Dual Vacuum Dual Advance which is stock for -71 & up smog controled Beetles.
(see the second vacuum hose coming out of the bisket in photo 2)
The distributor retards the timing at idle, you set this distributor to 5 degrees ATDC with a timing light, and vacuum hoses on.
Use 3.5 mm ID vacuum hose.

Second photo looks like some type of hack, clean it up with a file, and don't worry about it. |
