View original topic: Purple 69' Karmann Ghia I Need some help

Alright so I’m 16 almost 17 and for my 16th birthday my dad bought me a 69' Ghia we've stripped all the paint had a full body respray. We painted her a nice pearlescent purple and we're now on the process of putting everything back together and we've hit a wall. We had to replace the floor pans because they were completely rusted through so now we need to put in new seat tracks because the ghia pans don’t come with them pre installed. Now I have two questions one will VW Beetle tracks fit in the ghia because I am not planning on putting in Ghia seats but Race Seats that come with a universal rail. Two if they don't fit what tracks will or does anyone have a place where I can buy tracks (not at karmannghia.com because they are too expensive). I am looking for either new or used it doesn’t really matter to me.
Thank you for your help.

I would think that your "Race Seats" come with what you need to mount them and VW rails would be unnecessary, even in the way.

These are the seats they say they have universal sliders and im assuming that means your going to have to have some kind of track to go on them

The pic of the univ. slider in that ad looks like it gives you what you need for sliding the seat fore and aft. You'll have to adapt them to your floor pan with fabbed pieces that provide the correct height and tilt. The adapters should also give substantial strength / stiffness to the otherwise sheetmetal floor attachment points.
The VW slider pieces that didn't come with your pans would just be in the way.

Hi, did you see those seats in person, or a friend of yours. I do not know this company but I have a bad experience with another one, because, you know, the look nice in the screen but when you have on front you will see a real poor quality. It is only an advice.

By the way I am still looking for a pair of seats. Two Brands, that the people on Karmann's use are Corbau and Scat, but they are really expensive.

Ivan.
