So...I bought one from Autozone...and...wallah!! The car works!!
No clue why it didn't work beforehand...
So...just wondering...can an autostick starter work w/ a 180 flywheel? I doubt it, and I'm guessing I've got a 12V flywheel in there, but...just wondering...
It's a 62 chop top w/ a 1600 dual port in it...
Note, though, that the starter does grind...but...who cares, so long as it starts...!!

If the FW is 6 volt ringed and you use a 12 volt geared starter it will work for a short time with grinding, and then not at all.
Better to pull the engine and see what you have for a FW now.
6 volt FW came in 180 and 200 mm clutch areas, and would not be surprised if someone has had a shop make up a 12 volt geared 180 mm clutch FW. |
