Pretty much the same thing as the hot spark Chinese model and all the rest of the BS
You get twice the voltage delivered to the plugs which increases horsepower while it improves fuel mileage and those spark plugs will last longer too  |

So I was talking to one of the local VW gurus that has been in the VW repair business for years and he said I really need to run a DVDA not an SVDA with a 34 PICT-3 or a 31-3 PICT. Unfortunately he does not have any leads on new or used DVDA.
Is this the case? Do I need an SVDA or DVDA?
I see people running all sorts of different carb and dist combinations and seem to be happy.
I just dont want to spend the money on parts that wont work or I dont need. I dont mind spending it if its going to do the job but if its going to be a waste of time and money, I would rather not. I'm almost ready to put the motor in but need to know for sure before order parts. I am also a little concerned about the initial start up on a new motor and potentially not having the right distributor thus causing harm due to not having the timing set up right.
The car will be driven mostly on the freeway at 55-65 MPH and some in town driving. |

I also forgot to list that I have in my collection a 0231 137 039 that was a replacement for 0231 137 021. I think this is the closest match that I have in my possession. The specs on old volks are below. I am meeting with one of the area vw gurus later this week so hopefully he can shed some light on whether this will work or if I should start over from scratch.
If anyone else has feedback on if this dist should work with my 34 PICT-3 or 31 PICT-3, please feel free to share.

Pulled these sticky threads from the late forum for you... they have some information you might can read them and learn some things.
IMHO if your not bound by inspection requiring emissions ( and I am pretty sure your not) you can forget "needing" to run the DVDA distrib....
