Hi,
my tach has the scale only up to 2400 RPM.
I know i should set the timing 28 deg. at 3500 RPM.
Will the centifical advance keep advancing above 3500 RPM?
How much should it be at 2000?
Is it ok in the long term if I always set it to 7,5 at 950 RPM (hoses off)?
I have an European '78 2.0 automatic, with dual solexes, all stock.
Thanks. |

| There is no need for a tach. You can tell by your light when there is no more advance. |

| So I can just rev. it as high as it will go and put it to 28*? |

| Just rev it high enough to have the advance all in. |

Ok, thanks.
Is it bad that my mark is jumping about 1 cm when the rpm is higher than 2000?
It's not jumping constantly but does it every second or so...
I tried rocking the axle in the distributor and it seems ok. |

| Could be your light, points, condenser, plug or plug wire.To check for the latter connect your light to the #3 and see if it also jumps |

Ok, will do that.
Those things are all new by the way... Mybe the points need a few miles to start working properly... |

| Double check your points gap, this is where a dwell meter comes in handy.Could also by rotor, cap or distributor drive, and or gear |
