| Is there any condition that will cause one side to run richer than the other on a singleport? The plugs on 1 & 2 are consistently black and sooty whereas 3 & 4 look good :? Short of an intake leak somehow leaning out 3 & 4, what could cause this? It runs and idles well so I don't think there's a leak. I put new plugs in over the weekend which is what got me wondering. It was running like a swiss watch beforehand so I'm not overly worried, more curious. |

What's the condition of your leads on 1 & 2?
If 3 & 4 are good, then that rules out the coil, distributor, plugs (as they're new).
If it ran well before changing the plugs, you may have inadvertently not tightened down the plugs at 1 & 2. Just a thought. |
