I don't care what the Cubs do the rest of the year except for the game on June 15th. I'll be at Wrigley that day hoping they beat the snot out of the Red Sox!!! GO YANKS!

I doubt i'll be able to say that again this year.

they are not "in" first place, they are in a 3 way tie for first place. and based on the runs scored among those 3 teams, they are not in first place at all.
i agree with the latter half of your post.

edit: ok, so it took you all weekend, but now The Mets are in sole possession of first place in the NL East. congrats. but don't get used to it. ;)
also, thanks for sweeping the Braves. nothing can be finer than that!

Congrats to Philip Humber... you're PERFECT.

Yankees kick the living SH!T out of the Red Sox today.

They were down 0-9 after 5 innings. Then it rained runs. 1 in the 6th, 7 in the 7th and 7 in the 8th. Final score 15-9.

I saw the highlights during the Tiger game, and as much as I don't like the Yankees, it was an amazing comeback AND it makes me kinda happy to see the Red Sox floundering. Congrats to the Yankees.

Saw a few innings of D-Backs-Nationals game Tuesday. Bryce Harper made amazing throw 295 feet perfect strike (on the fly) but tagged-up runner was called safe at home. Replay showed him clearly being out with about 8 inches to go to touch the plate.

Is Mariano's career over?

I hope not.

Not particularly a Yankees fan, but I've always been a huge admirer of Mariano even though I knew my team would lose when he walked to the mound.

A guy who has exhibited pure class year after year. Permormed almost without flaw. Absolutely no one better at shuting a game down. Should be Hall Of Fame on first vote.

Damn, that Dodgers and Bad News Bears game last night was a pisser to watch...

NO HITTER

Johan Santana

MrBreeze Fri Jun 01, 2012 7:18 pm

Only a Mets fan would understand...... "Hey Mets finally got a no hitter!" "Did they win?"

Too funny, but not unexpected.

Johan Santana wrote: You guys made history tonight, i was just doing my job and having fun.

Spot on:

Quote: Santana had been effective in most of his starts this season. (He took a 2-2 record and 2.75 ERA into Friday’s game.) But last month Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen told my colleague Ken Rosenthal that “the real Johan” wouldn’t return until around June 1.

MrBreeze Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:47 am

Hard to believe dept: I heard Elvin Ramirez, called up yesterday by the Mets, hurt hamstring diving into Johan no-no pile, likely DL bound.
