| I am having my 74 thing painted..I went to finishmasters and perchased the paint. I think it was 2.5 quarts of urathane, but I have a full gallon of paint???why? they also said I will need 1 quart of hardener and 1 quart of reducer. ok so I take my Thing and paint over to the dude who is going to paint it. he says I didn't get enough hardener and reducer and he says he needs 1 gallon of hardener and one gallon reducer to do the job..What! you got to be kidding me...that come out to three gallons of stuff to paint my car. No f-in Way!This is just a single stage arcylic urethane paint,,how could it be that he will need this much hardener and reducer? how much is a gallon of hardener going to cost me? is this dude trying to rip me off? please help... :? |

PPG has a website. do a search on google or other engine and find it, ( I forgot the exact link sorry) and they have all the info/ MSDS/ mixing/appliction etc. on there...
the paint store may have sold you enough to " do the job" but maybe not enough to satisfy the dude doing the spraying. Sometimes recommended quantities are not what Pros in the field prefer for the type of job they do. |

Just like everyone said it depends on the ratio's 1 part paint, 2parts reducer, 4 parts harderner or whatever.
Clear should reduce out almost one gallon to 1.5 gallons of sprayable material |
