For some reason that's not covered in my Bentley manual or I can't find it. Changing V-Belt on alternator to hopefully fix a warning light problem. Thought I'd change both belts since the AC belt squealed this year and the warn lights started coming on after using AC this year. Did I mention it feels like 100 today. Any and all help appreciated. Photos a plus for me too.

both the alternator and a/c pump should have adjusting bolts. you need to loosen the mounting bolts, so you can loosen the adjusting bolts. then you should be able to simply take off the belts and change. atleast this is how it is on my 86 diesel jetta.

Is there enough play not to worry about them?

Thought I'd take the Alt completely off to see how the AC is hooked up. Can even get the Alt out of the engine compartment. Took all the bolts out and it appears to be pinned into a plate that it hinged on. Plate wraps under the AC and bolts to the block I believe. This is not the type of German engineering I'm used too.
