Do I just pull on the AC compressor by hand to get the desired tension or is there a trick to using this tensioner?

i have a MkII, so its a little different. on mine there is a bolt to adjust the tension on the a/c pump. its a different looking bracket than what you pictured.
if yours is exactly like the one pictured, then i'd guess, yes tension it by hand or with the help of a pry bar. |
