Looks just like the one I picked up a couple months back.

I wish I could bring it back to OG, but, it has an IRS pan :?

But, thanks to all the non-og attributes, i did get it really cheap. :D

My oval is sitting on a 66 pan,...still swing axle. It used to be that you could put 4 lug dic brakes on a 66. (old school) They just bolt right on and that is what is has now.

My plan is to go back to 5 wide with 4 wheel disc brakes. It cost about $800 but it will look closer to OG and stop better.

I also baught a W dwcklid for it.
I will not start on this project till my 63 bug and my wifes Ghia are finished.

That interior is hard core! Love the diamond tuck headliner (not kidding either) I'm guessing a little more late 70's than 80's.

I have an OG '59 sunroof I just completed a few years back. I have since grew tied of the stock 36'r and whitewalls. I set my mind on turning it into a DKP 1 style car. Complete with 1 piece windows, shaved trim and front signals, hex shaft aluminum T-bars, lowered front end and a set of period correct wheels. After looking the car over a number of times and recalling how solid it is, I can't bring myself to carry out these permanent alterations. So the '59 will remain.

Being so desirous to build a TRUE California Look car, I have sourced another base. A ratty '58 hardtop. Being that quarters and doors will need to be replaced, the trim holes will be shaved. Vent wings omitted, and finished off to look straight out of the early 70's. The dash will remain stock. Here is an example pulled from DKP's website from the early Bug-In days.
