Hey guys,

I've found some spare time to post my complete resto here as well...

First some background; I've found the oval stalled in a heated garage for over 12 years. the guy bought it but never found the time to start with the resto. There were already some works done maybe 15... or more years ago but in the best way...
Some pictures were I found the oval;

On the way home...

His new home...

We couldn't resist to start working on it already... with result: nightshift :twisted: and body off already 8)

My split is turned in to a storage room for the moment :roll: :oops:

Made a very litlle mistake :evil: :roll:

MATCHING NUMBERS;

Next day, some great help again from the guys;

In the meantime we also drove to another friend who needed some help to get his KG body off... We drove in style of coarse... :lol:

When we found some spare time in the evening we did some chrome polishing...

After a few hours cleaning the chassis (no further work at all was needed...) we gave it a nice layer of epoxy and then some finishing paint.

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 2:50 am

then I decided to go and sandblast the body. it was the best option...

some lost alain :lol:

back home after eating sand for 3 hours \:D/

Epoxy >>

Some loose parts...

Started some welding ...

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 2:56 am

the original interior was covered all the time... doorpanels were in great shape, back seat as well only one of the front seats was eaten up by some mice! :twisted:

Zo kwam het er mooi af :-) en tevens dus het ORIGINELE interieur !! ( waar geen reet aan is !! :-D )

I started working on my "spit", in the meantime my girlfriend worked on the interior...

Doorpanels...

The good front seat.

The bad one :roll: :lol:

Backseat pretty good shape;

some terrible sheet metal that I'd ordered;

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:01 am

finished off the "spit"

Here we go...

Six flags ... 8) :lol:

some small welding had to be done first, else I couldn't mount the spit...

some time left so already made some changes on the sheetmetal;

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:04 am

some more work done again... like I said before... there had been done some welding already by a ***** :lol: so... we do it again properly;

received a piece of cloth (sample) to check if it's correct with the original one;

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:10 am

Next;

Home made sheetmetal; nothing better!

rud helsen Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:16 am

the last thing I did...

bottem plate is also been replaced. already replaced a small piece of the upper side. still need to fix the rest.

past mooi;

et voila...

finishing off the a-pilar;

fixing the rear fender in the evening (adult aducation ;-))

the side;

this is all for the moment... 8)

Wow looks fantastic!
Can you post more pictures of the front panel repair? Its the area behind the pedal assembly and underneath the gas tank. I have to do the same repair on both sides and the same as yours only much worse since mine rusted on both the inside and outside panel.

Much appreciated! :D

I'll check... "normally" there should be some more pics... if not; I also need to fix the other side so no worries :-) Mine was welded there already but like I said before it was done in a terrible way > rusting metal just left behind it... :roll: however the inner side was still in a very good condition. I'll send you a PM when I've found them ;-)
