Hi there, I am interested in coming over to the U.S.A from England to buy some VW Split Screen Campers. I'm looking at Arizona, California and Nevada. Could anyone help in the way of contacts to clubs or websites that may sell them? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

There is an online classified website called Craigslist.com.....
If you fiddle a little bit with it you will find that they have two ways of doing searches. One is on the page of the city and its extended area and the other one is on the regions at least for the bear western states. Once you have made a few searches the program remembers some parameter and sort of help you to facilitate your search.
IT starts to offer wast search on west montana or eatern montana etc large areas.
For california, go to us states,( you start from the top, the big area, the whole state, ) don't go directly to the city then make sure that you select : and surrounding area. Then you select some key wordsof your own and paste them one after the other in the search box to be executed.
The key words have to reflect the different way some people that own what you're looking for would interacte with and therefore describe the goods. Some guys are going to call them exactly what they are and other exactly how they make them feel etc. so different key words in each area will give you different lists. ( you're a britt so read some articles written by yankees) I collect motorcycles ( 22) you'd be surprise how different some search result can be on Ebay depending on how you describe the goods.
Craigslist... being out of USA you might have a problem communicating with the sellers... so clic on the link for the email and on top to the right, you can send the copy of the add to someone of your choosing... Send it to yourself, put twice the same email from you to you and then you can review a list cut and paste on Note pad for example and write those guy for outside craigslist. Create yourself a dedicate email for that with a pseudo because a lot of people are looking for cash in Arizona aswell.
And be carefull of what people are suppose to know about that sort of vans because I can take apart a vanagon in 3 days but I havn't got the foggiest of what year is a split window... yet I have a vanagon, an adventurewagen and a syncro. Go for the long list of answers. look for parts too. enroll some friends and use www.bings.com/maps/ much faster than google maps. Open it in the usa , not from a britt web. If you want to see a more recent view of the area of interest open the map from the yellow pages. the level of pics are much recent, you might see the bus.... |

| They are going to beat you to it and interfere. Talk to the seller say that your coming in 3-4 months and show up a little earlier before he has time to finish up the van.... don't say that you want to hear it run, they break it. |
