How do you run a vin number test on an old car. My 69 beetle. I have had it for a while and was just curious to see what kind of information I could find on it. Any info would be appritiated! Thanks, Tommy H. (1969 bug)

Without having to pay for it at that germany place. I dont really want to go to all that trouble of paying for it b/c I live in the usa.

I'm not sure how to use it but o well, my vin # is 11984659

There's not enough digits in the number you quote.

Yes 69 - they are right, there should be one more digit in that engine number.

Hoxviii has it right - the thrid number is the year indicator, but there should be 6 more numbers after that for the 69 model year.
