The 62 I recently bought has some door panals on the front doors that look good except they are warped all up. The vinal on them looks good and is still soft, but the backs are made out of some cheap card board. I was thinking about taking the vinal off and making some backs out of better material and puting the vinal on them. Has anyone done this and what would be the best material to make the backs out of.

masonite might be a good material to do this with. i think its TMI, and maybe Sewfine too, that use masonite on their door panels. TMI advertises that the masonite board panels are durable/strong. hope this helps.

| The stock VW door panel has cardboard, a thin padding, then the heat-pressed vinyl front. You might get better results getting new panels. |

| if the viynl is really suitible for stretching over a new board, then you could gotot somewhere like homedepot or something and get some masonite and make a new one from a pattern. but.. who knows. |
