i have a question.
what year of ragtop section fits in my car its a 53 bug split window ? and let me know if someone has a ragtop section for sale .

50-55 will be correct for your car. if you find one it will probably set you back $1200-$1800.

It's not that easy, there were changes in the top between '50-'55. The most visible is the rubber track in the side rails, early are smooth (no rubber) later ones have it. Also inside the car (under the headliner) above the mirror early ones have no center support, late ones do; like ovals.
I'm sure that there were many other changes but it is becoming harder and harder to appriciate them because of all of the "sculpting" that goes on.
So, the answer to your question is an early 1953 rag section is the one that will fit your car the best. You could also try something different: leave it a hard top. |
