View original topic: rear IRS suspension rumbling

I have an IRS suspension that has the wheels toed out(as it would look with a heavey load) when I hit a bump the right side rear sounds like there's a brick bouncing around. I thought maybe the engine lid was clunking, but that's not it, everythings battoned down including the battery. I can't see anything askew underneath, the two sides aren't even though, as the spring plate needs a tweak upwards on the drivers side. There's only about an 1 1/2" clearance from where the big rubber stop meets the bracing part, and about 2 1/2" on the other side. It's driving me crazy as it doesn't seem to do it on the hiway,as it is most noticable at lower speeds...Help! BTW this is on a ghia, I post this on this forum as there's more of you hanging out here.
Thanks! Greg
