Just scored this wheel and was wondering if it was real or not. The price was toooo goood to pass whether it was real or not :lol: The hub looked different than the flat 4 ones and the ones at ISP. The guy said his dad bought it back in 97 for his pre a porsche but could not tell me if they had marking's on it as he didn't pay attention to that...he was just getting rid of it as his dad passed away :cry:

Hey Johnny, that is one of the copy's with the better hub design. It looks more like an original once installed than having the empi looking boss on it, it has a shaped and painted hub. The original had no separate mounting hub, it was all one piece.

so is it an earlier flat 4 version :oops: or did someone else make this ? I've compared it to the flat 4 version's for sale now and they do not look at all the same as far as the hub goes. The guy told me it's one peice hub with no adaptor.. Those pic's suck. I've compared it to my other real petri wheels and the inside of the hub is different but from the outside/exterior it is exactly the same :? I'll know when I get the wheel on saturday.

Oh I know it would have the petri logo I have 10 other real petri wheels it's just this one came up on ebay and looked perfect but the hub didn't match the hub's on the original petri wheels I have and it didn't match the flat 4 petri wheel's or even the ones on karmann connection so I didn't know if it was aftermarket or not. I pick the wheel up on saturday but I am now sure it's not real but I got it for cheap cheap cheap :lol: and we'll see about the quality when I get it. I'll post some pick's and compare them to the flat 4 wheels :wink: and hopefully see if there any marking's as to who made this one 8)

I saw that one on Ebay last week, to many holes on the hub, Johnny post some pictures from your other PETRI wheels :wink:

I asked the seller on ebay for better hub pics he said he would but never did. Glad someone here got it.

Well I couldn't pick up the wheel as his phone# no longer works but he did send me a picture but I can't get it to download as the picture he sent is either tooo big or it's corrupted LOL. The only marking's on it though was a "W" with the #'s 10038 underneath the "W" I still want the wheel fake or not because that thing look's clean and more closer to the real ones than the other aftermarket ones. Hopefully he'll answer his emails I sent to him.

yep but his phone isn't working and that day I called him for the direction's like he asked me too and his phone does not work anymore so I emailed him and haven't heard from him since. WTF are you getting at :lol:
