i too have had a fire. Electrical, it was in front of a auto parts store. I was frekin out i ran inside and said HELP I NEED A EXTINGUISHER!!! the cashier looked at me like...."what?i no speka english?" i ran backoutside grabbed some wire cutters from under the hood cut the shorted wire(i tightened the alternator D+ wire without holdong the bottom nut and it grounded inside).
after i was pissed cus that shiz is hard to clean off.

One thing, you may want to hire an independent insurance adjuster. In some states these are registered professionals who act as your agent to represent your case with the insurance company. If your fully restored '74 convertible was in decent shape, current going rate for such a car is $6000 to $15000 depending on condition. If they total your car, and your insurance included comprehensive coverage, this is what you should get. The problem I have seen in other's stories is that the insurers don't have a way of considering collector cars when they look up their valuations. |

Thanks for the advice... We went through the insurance company first and they wanted to give us something like $3700! We said no thanks and we got an independent like you suggested. We are still waiting for their quote. I'll let u guys know when i find out just to satisfy ur curiosity...

| im the only one who drives up in a bus or my type 3 at school . for some reason stoners hang around mybus sometimes hmmmmmm i wounder why.(i dont smoke) i love my vws (im 17) but my brother has been into vws for almost 10 years now and we know registerd vw reparmen that have been certified on vws sence 1958 so i know things about bugs and so on my bug is being built up but i love to have vws. |
