I understand that I should search for answers before posting a question. And I get why.

But I have a hard time finding some things that I know must have been talked about many times.

An example - I need to put a fuel tank into a '67 deluxe bus that I purchased in pieces. I see several posts about fuel tanks in general, but I would like to know how to connect the filler neck to the side of the bus (where the little "door" opens when you want to fill the tank). I can't find a post about that, although certainly someone has talked about it in the past.

Any ideas that would help narrow searches like that?

Thanks!

Sometimes it takes some reading of what comes back to find a suitable thread. It usually makes sense to add to an existing thread if there is something similar but if there really is nothing similar then go ahead and start a new thread.

I can't remember anyone asking that particular question before but you may be able to search on fuel neck or fuel tank neck.

Sometimes doing a "title only" search can help quite a bit to narrow the number of results down, although not in this case.

What you asked makes no sense to me though. All Buses up to '67 have a solid neck and nothing attaches by the fuel door. There is a seal there that the neck passes through that sort of holds it in place though. But that is really a response for the thread you might start. :)

I did a quick search on fuel neck and got a number of threads.

I think you might have a Bay Window tank since those have a detachable neck, in which case these 2 threads looked promising, either with the solution to your question or possible to add to once you read them:

Note that the 2nd thread above was really a link right at the start of the first thread, I don't think it came up in the search, at least not at the top.

Thanks, Everett.

I guess it didn't occur to me that there wasn't an attachment. I'm glad you answered the specific question, although I just thought I wasn't good at creating the search criteria!

Great site, by the way! Is this your creation?

The short answer is yes.
