i just installed a new clutch cable after breaking the old one and now i have a small problem. i installed the new cable and it doesn't seem long enough. its the right cable (i checked the year suitable with the ref. numbers) but i have to pull the clutch lever back to get the wing nut on and that just engages the clutch. i tried getting the bent part of the tubing straight where it puts tension on the cable but the cable is still too short. is there anything i can add to it to make the threads longer or anything that i might of missed along the way. any help is greatly appreciated.
p.s. the clutch pedal is in the normal position and not pressed down as if it were engaged

get another cable and compare lengths I have had some problems with bus cables being too long/short there only a few bucks another problem could be that the tube let go inside the tunnel but this will usually make a clicking/cracking noise when engaged this will usaually be evident by a very loose cable though so this is doubtful I would put money on the cable being wrong my best guess and most common experience

I'd agree, probably the wrong cable. Assuming you drive a 69, the correct one is listed as 113 721 335A and is 2260mm long. Another possibility is the hook on the front end end is not fully engaged.

the package has the same number as moby listed. maybe it got cut just a little short or something, because all i need is 3/4" - 1" more of thread showing to add the wing nut. i took off the flex tube and ran the cable straight to the clutch lever in the back. it still was too short. i am going down to the shop and get one more and see how it compares ($10). hopefully it will work out. i'll keep you posted and thanks for the input

I agree with everybody on the short cable. I had the same problem. According to the part # it was the right cable, but it was too short.

the second cable was just a little longer so i was able to get the wing nut on.

Did you get a chance to compare the cables side-by side? Were they the same part number? From the same or different supplier(s)?
I just like to keep track of such things, as we all need new cables from time to time.
