i was wondering how i can adjust the play in my clutch petal so that theres that inch or so of play before i feel pressure on the clutch petal. at least thats what i was told... that there should be about an inch or inch and a half of play in my clutch petal. because when i press in the clutch petal fully, i get a high pitched spining noise. a friend of mine told me i can fix that by adjusting my clutch. any help would greatly be appreciated.

Drivers side, under rear fender, Look under there, behind engine, the clutch cable is there on an arm. Adjust it with the wing nut or with a wrench, whatever it is, anyway, tighten in or loosen it, whatever you need to do, check the freeplay in the pedal. I'm pretty sure it needs to be between an inch and an inch and a half. You should gently press the pedal with your hand of finger and measure the distance to when it gets tight. Adjust at the clutch cable as needed. If that does not work for you, plan on buying a new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing.
