| This has probably come up before but in case it hasn't: what about a separate forum category for coachbuilts? There's been a lot of discussion about coachbuilts in the split forums lately and many of the cars discussed fall outside of the split era. Too small an interest group? |

"... and any Coachbuilt car"
I'm guessing the content is very limited but opinions welcome.
If it makes sense to have one or more dedicated "Coachbuilt" threads we could set that up. |

Over on Pre67.com... Rob just split up the coachbuilt forum into several forums... one for each popular coachbuilt. Most of the coachbuilt conversations take place there. Sometimes coachbuilt info is posted on Samba... but it is not as often.
Pre67 is primarily European and UK based content... although a lot of US contributors add their voice... particularly in the coachbuilt forums.
The new individual coachbuilt brand format on pre67 allows for easy backwards scrolling of topics on a particular coachbuilt brand without having to slosh through all the other brands. On the other hand... it means that each individual topic doesn't get updated all that often. There just aren't that many Heb posts individually.... Rometsch posts etc. So it is a bit quiet on any one coachbuilt thread.
If you are interested in all types of coachbuilts... you now have 6 forums to look at rather than just one... but if you are interested in just one particular coachbuilt... you only have to focus on one forum.
If theSamba also develops a coachbuilt section... all this will do is fragment the coachbuilt threads between Samba and Pre67.... which isn't really helping the hobby much. If coachbuilts were a huge topic... with lots and lots of posts... well then I would absolutely say separate out a thread for coachbuilts on Samba too.
But there honestly isn't that much traffic on coachbuilts... and if Samba also has a whole separate coachbuilt section... the global info will get split between Samba and Pre67. So I'm gonna side with Everette and say leave well enough alone until such time as it becomes a big deal... if ever.
It would be nice if the two sites shared threads somehow on coachbuilts I suppose... but I don't own any of this content... so I really should probably shut the hell up now before I say too much!
(one minor issue I have with the coachbuilt gallery... is that there appears to be nobody moderating. So there are photos of car wrecks taken from VW Tiquans in the snow... custom cars... etc.... It would be nice to be able to "Flag" photos that don't belong in this gallery.) |

I looked through the first 10-15 pages and there were a few things in the wrong categories. I cleaned it up. This is an ongoing issue with the Gallery.
You can Report gallery entries but you must go into them so you see the photo full size first to see the Report button. |
