I have a 67 sedan. I got nice 65 front/rear bumpers for $50 to replace my mangled originals (not a bad deal!). The rear fits fine but the front does not, the attaching points on the bumpers are too wide for the 67 supports. I'm assuming this is due to the one-year 67 fender design. The guy I bought the fenders from stated they were 65 and should fit a 67. Whatty'all think? Should a 65 front bumper fit a 67??

from 67 and down, all the bumpers are interchangeable. it kinda sounds like you bought two rear bumpers. are they just blades, or american style. if they are blades they pretty much look the same except the back one is more curved to the body. if they are american bumpers, the front should have 1 little bar going all the way across to the other side. the rear will have two of them, and they wont go from side to side. it will have a gap in the middle big enough for the decklid to go through to open and shut. so basically what im saying is that i think you may have bought two rear bumpers. let me knoe if this helps.

Is it possible that your bumper brackets are flipped (upside down). If they were they would look kind of normal on the bumper but not hit the mounting slots at the right angle. Flip them over and see if they do not hit at the desired location. They will look like they point inward on the bumper but will be 90 degrees to the apron/body. Just a thought that might help. No difference in 67 fronts and earlier american style bumpers.

I truly do have a front and back bumper. No doubt about that. It is possible, though, that I have the brackets flipped, though I thought I had 'em correct. Now the original brackets were damaged in an impact that destroyed the original bumper, but I bought new ones from Rocky Mtn. Motorworks, and they dont' seem to fit either. I'll try flipping the brackets to see if that works.

buggin': One thing to note is that the brackets do not (should not) make a perfect "T" or "|-- " like the ones you may have purchased from RMMW. The brackets are actually more like this: /--
You may have to put them in a vice and bend one "ear" up and the other "ear" down to achieve the proper orientation. Good luck. L572
