Folks,
I have a problem that I was hoping people might be able to help me with. I have what could only be described as mushy brakes. I've tried everything, replacing the Master Cylinder, replacing and bleeding multiple times the new bleeder screws.....and here is what happens. When the ebrake is up, the pedal is firm. However when the ebrake is down....you have to pump them and the pedal is not as firm as before. I'm going nuts with this one. I still have the old rubber hoses. Could they be expanding to the point where there might be cracks? When bleeding them last night it seemed fine. I don't quite understand, does anyone have any suggestions? I have front Porsche brakes btw. Two bleeder screws on each side of the front and two in the back, one for each side. Should I replace the front brake lines?
Thanks,
Jon |

| Have you turned the adjusting stars out, thus adjusting the shoes close to the drums? Anytime you do a brake job you need to "re-adjust the shoes" via the star adusters several times after bleeding a a few test drives to get them set in properly... then you need to re adjust every few weeks (depending on your driving) if you want the brake pedal to always bee "up top" and have a bitchin brake pedal.... |

| I would try changing the hoses even if they look good from the out side because they will start to colapse. |

| I had the same problem and what I found it to be is running from the pedal to the master cyclinder is a bolt type thing with a nut on it, adjust the nut so that it pushes the pedal toward the drivers seat. That will help with the compression a lot! I mean before I had to pump the brakes no it stops on a dime. |
