Hey guys
Saw a 63 Ragtop on the side of the road for sale here in Tucson yesterday. Body looked straight, no rust (body or pan), very faded lime green paint. One piece windows. Dry-rotted canvas and interior. Dash cut for stereo. Engine there, but not complete. Looks like it hasnt been on the road in about 10 years. Also - droped front end.
Now - what would you say a car like this is work - being it's from Tucson (no rust). The asking price was 3K - which seemed steep to me. *shrug* Just looking for opinion.

| It is $1500 steep. Sounds like a car that got molested back in the 80s and left to die because it had problems. IMO, as a broad rule of thumb, a beat car with one piece windows is a car to avoid unless the price is real good. |

| Hey Ryan, Yeah that is definitely high in the condition you just described. Possibly a $1000-1500 car to me. I bought my 55 3 fold rag complete no rust with a bad trans for 4k but that was luck. Anyways, dont buy it just keep your eyes open. If you are looking in the 3 range there are plenty of nice cars for that. Skim |
