| I have a 67 and i need new doors. I want to get 66 doors but i am not sure if they will fit, and by fit I mean will I have to change the strike-plates or any thing more complicated than removing the old and doing the reverse with the new. |

OK, first i will say that i don't know the answer to your question exactly but i can give you some info that i found.
Also if i had the chance to see your question earlier i could have compared a late 66 and early 67 ealier today. But the 66 is gone as of tonight, my buddy sold his.
I can also tell you that his had the 67 door handles which are suppose to be 1-year only but i guess his being a late 66 its possible. His was all original by the way. Wolfsburg West list different striker plates for 67 and up, same for the locking mechanism in the door that catches the striker plate.
Also i'm assuming you know the outside trim holes(not to mention the trim itself) on a 66 are larger than 67's. If your keepin the trim on the sides then thats one small problem. Also the inside door handles are recessed on the 67 and up plus the 67 door has the pop up door lock pull. Oh yeah... the door seals are also different 66 and down according to Wolfsburg West once again. I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting the 66 doors but seems like alot of hassle when you could go with the sure thing and keep it OG.
I have seen many, many 67 doors on here in the classifeds. Good luck in your quest.
