My super's front apron and spare tire well was replaced by one of the previous owners, and I don't know why. But the bottm back of the left front fender is about an inch and half away from the body. The bottom screw hole on the fender is not being used to fasten it to the body. I tried shoving the fender closer to the body but it doesn't budge. I tried loosening all the other fender bolts first but I can't get that part of the fender any closer to the body. The hole for the running board bolt misses the corresponding hole in the running board by about an inch. Could it be this fender is a repro? It doesn't look any different from the other front fender. Do you think it's just that when they did the front body work they messed up? Any body run into this kind of a problem? And I can't ask the previous owner. I think she died (seriously...she sold it to me a few days before she was going into the hospital for her second cancer operation).

Hey 79', i'm not quite sure what it could be but I know that 74' sup fenders are different, one year only. The bumper shock holes are different widths from the apron, but not sure about the rest lining up, but maybe that could be it....or maybe it is a repro. Good luck.

Actually I just thought of an answer to my own question, duh: I'll go measure the distance from the running board hole to the edge of the other front fender. If it's the same measurement, then they must have screwed up when they did the front body work and it doesn't matter what kind of fender is on there, it won't fit. So I may have to drill a new hole in the left fender to fasten the running board properly.
