What oil temps can one expect with a dog house cooler at 70-100 degrees air temp. I have got to 220 degrees, at 95-100 outside air temp, doing 60-70 mph. Is this normal? Also, what is the safest high temp that I should run. This is all viewed on vdo guages. The pressure is pretty low at idle at this temp too. I am running 20w50 oil. Any other suggestions on weight of oil. thanks Jason

i just bought a vdo temp gauge last week.
if im doing 55/60 it stays around 180 and while doing 65/70 it's at 200/210.this is on a stock 1500 doghouse with a engle110 cam...the oil cooler blocks number three so im thinking of getting a remote fan/cooler and late model doghouse.
200/220 is as high as im gonna let it get. when it gets that high i'll pull over for ten minutes to cool down....im running castrol syntech 20/50
