It's only done it when engine braking (down shifting). Can anyone explain why it does this? Is it bad? Sorry for the Noob question! Thanks

| I have a 69 mine is doing that due to an exhaust leak and I had it tuned with a rich fuel mixture. When u downshift the exhaust fires the uncombusted fuel or its timing that could be your problem. I found my leak by using two rags and covering my exhaust tips. I heard a little leak behind the engine on one of the j-tubes in the heater boxes. You could also do it when its cold cause then u will see ur exhaust. If its not a leak its timing. Check both. Im still trying to get my car to stop farting goodluck |

| Thanks! I'm doing a tune up next week so I'm gonna go over everything with a fine tooth comb. Somethings up, because now it doesn't want to hold an idle very well. |
