I found this roof rack that is a Surco 45" wide by 60" long. Is that too big? I'm not home to measure the width of the roof to see if it will overhang too much. What do you think?

Probably fit, but that seems expensive!

I'm thinking it might fit too... One is selling locally for 150, I'm wondering if I should jump on it. Also has two light tabs in the front already. I'd have to buy the gutter mounts.

For $225 you could get one custom made . . . $150 sounds better

Where are you going to get a quality roof rack made for $225?? Mine was a bit more pricey than that.

I think it will be too big, it'll overhang the curves. To long length wise.

Whoa sorry. I got confused. $300. Just checked the receipt. I think my brain took too many beatings from the baja...

Looks similar to mine, The expensive part on mine was the mounting. The legs are curved in to be perpendicular to the roof. That and the rear cage mount is custom made stands that clamp to the roll cage.

Same with mine, I'm sure without the cage mounts it would've been cheaper. But it's much stronger that way. I actually based my design partly off of yours . . . :D

Some great ideas floating around in here. I just might get a similar one.

I have a couple sketches of some preliminary ideas if you want them. Or I can supply more pics of mounting and everything. It's removable as well

My old roof rack on my old baja. It cost me.....nothing, becaused i stole the rebar from a local building site. The price i did pay was, the welds kept braking, and the mounts wernt that great, i just drilled holes in the roof as close to the drip rail as possible and still be able to get a bolt in. ya know what i mean.

PS, i got all the scrap rebar though, i have some decency.
