I recently changed my car over to 12v and installed a high output alternator. Now my carb hits the alternator housing and wont sit correctly on my manifold flange. I put a spacer between the flange and carb to keep it from hitting but now my throttle cable is'nt long enough to reach the carb linkage. Should I modify the linkage, buy a longer throttle cable or some other type of modification? I'm trying to keep it simple and know that others might have had the same problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks A lot!

Cheapest way to go would be to buy another throttle cable. If that doesnt work then more money will need to be spent. Cables are around 10-12$ I think. Good luck!

Im not sure who, but someone makes a throttle cable extension (it gives you about an inch more cable). Its a small metal piece that your throttle cable slides into and you tighten a set screw, the other end is the same size as the original cable. Check with your local VW parts store.
