Yah, I do think they started making them in the 80s, but they still make em I think.

I loved my old one but the newer one does'nt look like it's as good of quality. Might be why they don't make them anymore.

no longer made,you have to buy used. in switched to mountney wheels. jbug/cal pacific sells them. i have 1 mountney leather wrapped i have had for about 20 years and swapped it back and forth between my beetles.
