| I have a '71 Volkswagen Beetle and my dad and I just got done restoring it. We've completely restored the interior, replaced the running boards, repaint, and got the engine to run. It has been working great since we were able to make it driveable since 1992. I'm wondering how much I should ask for it or if anyone would like to make any offers. Thanks!! |

| Get as much as someone will pay for it. I think people use the term "restore" too liberally. What you describe is doing to it what it needs to sell without making it a show car. |

I think the prices you see for these cars gets artificially inflated. Ask for something decent but make it easy for someone else to get into.
I paid $1500 for a '58 and the guy was asking $2500. I guess he was hoping for an irrational fanatic but when I pointed out certain things about the car that lowered it's value, it's cult status didn't make up the difference.
Also, if you got the engine running 11 years ago by now it's probably ready for an overhaul. Ultimately, it comes down to where you are, who's the buyer, and what the real condition of the vehicle is. Good Luck |
