I purchased a rebuilt Solex carburetor from him. Terrible experience.
There were pieces on it that were bent that shouldn't have been bent and it was leaking all over the place when I put it on the engine. In his ad he claims to have tested it before he sent it out and if that was true then he would have seen that it was leaking. When I contacted him, he said it worked fine when he sent it out. I'm doubtful.
Also, the name on the package wasn't even his and the address he had given me for it's return wasn't the same as what was on the package I had originally received. That's suspicious to me if HE'S claiming that HE rebuilt it and tested it.
When he received the package I had to wait for my refund and then he failed to issue it on the original transaction page. So on top of return shipping costs, I'm also eating Paypal fees.
His ad claims a completely rebuilt, tested, guaranteed or 100% refund!
I got none of them.... but I'm out $15. |

First of all let me start this by saying that i have had well over 100 positive transactions between the samba and ebay. You can check my feedback. Second of all i work a fulltime job and have a few other responsiblities to deal with. I build carburetors on the side so i dont have every second of everyday to put into this. I do get them done in a very timely manner anyway and pride myself on doing a good job and getting my customers exactly what they want. I use my grandfathers workshop and therefore i use his label maker when i box up my carbuetors. I take great offense that you would question my integrity when you dont even know me. I would never decieve anyone who gives me their trust in my business. If you want to talk to me my number is 864-580-1424 you can call anytime and i will answer all questions.
I offered to send you a new one and you refused. Then i sent you a 100% refund. Thanks for being an asshole Stuart and trying to ruin what ive worked hard for. You are the rudest, most ignorant customer ive ever dealt with out of many of transactions. You will never get anywhere in life with that attitude. And to anyone else who thinks that im not trust worthy and dont do a good job, call me and ill prove to you otherwise. |

| Recently purchase a rebuilt carb from Nick. The item was well packaged and arrived very quickly in excellent condition. Took my old piece of junk off and bolted the rebuilt carb on. In a matter of 30 minutes I was back on the road with a smooth running ghia. Didn't even have to make any adjustments. Very very happy with the transaction. Would not hesitate to do busniess again. Thank you! |

STOCKING UP ON COVINGTON REBUILDS!
I've been dealing with Nick for a few weeks now. Sent him about 16 decrepit carbs and he sent me these three back. Another Pict34-3 on its way as well though that one will be zinc plated so he's waiting to accumulate enough parts for a batch.
In all honesty, for the price or trade he does these for. I am very pleased with the product. I have seen better rebuilds before but the only difference is the coating on the carb bodies and plating on a few small parts... but the cost is almost double what Nick charges(I'm positive he can match the quality of the others as well if you want to wait for plating). If you want a good rebuilt carb to get you car in running condition, I would highly recommend Nick. His turn around time is nearly overnight if you need it. He had the first carb in my hands less than a week after I sent it.
I WILL be doing more business with Nick, I cant wait to see the 34-3. If the plated ones look good, I will be sending him a few Zeniths as well.
Nick, thanks again and you are more than welcome to use the photo I took for your adds if you would like.

Nick didn't have one of the zinc platted ones available at the time I contacted him, But he gladly put me on his waiting list when he had a batch ready. I very pleased with his work and MORE importantly the price you can't beat
Thanks for getting my Ghia running 8) |

Just got my carb in and it runs great! Nick's communication is great and he ships his stuff out right away, I asked him to ship me a carb Friday morning, it was on my door step Monday.
To the original poster, I find it amazing that Nick would even insure his carburetors against Post Master Hulk, which is obviously the source of your bent arm. |

I bought a carb from Nick earlier this month. I live in the UK and Nick was kind enough to ship it over the Atlantic.
A very smooth transaction, Nick posted the item within 48 hours of me paying. It took approx 8 working days to arrive at my house and the carb is exactly as described, a very very well refurbed item.
Couldnt be happier!!
thanks again, Nick. |

| Great transaction with Nick. I had a Euromax 34 PICT-3 carb on my VW that I bought new. I was going crazy trying to figure out why the car was not running right. I tried everything and then read some threads here on Samba. I took a chance and bought a rebuilt Solex carb from Nick and the car is running great. That sold me on Nick and the quality of his rebuilt carbs. I'll never buy another piece of chinese crap like Euromax again. Thanks Nick for a quality rebuild. |

I bought a Solex 34 PICT-3 from Nick and it was an easy, fast transaction. He couldn't send it out the very next day but he was fast to let me know. The quality of the carb is fantastic, too! I used it to replace a Holley Bug Spray setup and it ran perfectly (after some idle adjustments) out of the box! So much better than that finicky Holley carb. Great quality!
Thanks, Nick!
