Scooterperth, its taking shape, looking good. Did you offload your Taipan?

scooterperth Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:17 pm

No I still have the Taipan body sitting outside, I wanted a Manx body and bought a brand new one. Hows your build going?

surfsup161 Thu Apr 07, 2011 7:08 am

Nearly done I'm hoping to have it finished in the next month or so. That body you got looks like one of Moose's, same color scheme as the one he was building. Mine is the reverse color scheme of yours now :)

.... that's interesting: Dark over Light. You keeping to that?
The tail lights on for a check-fit ...or you leaving them white? You sure have a nice part of the World to use it.

Jim

Yes surfsup, its the same as Mooses body....and no Jim, thats the colour of the gel coat, Im going to have it redone in a light pearl green colour on top and a contrasting colour underneath and the tail light housings will be chromed. I think with the chrome roll bar will look good.

I like the new motor.

Pearl green will look nice with those wheels.

Have you got your windscreen and seats yet?

scooterperth Fri Apr 08, 2011 8:01 pm

Hey Mark, yep have the screen but no seats as yet. I just cant decide as yet which ones to go with.

manxmark Sun Apr 10, 2011 1:36 am

A lot of seats are too wide for a Manx. Make sure you measure them up first.

surfsup161 Sun Apr 10, 2011 6:31 am

Scooterperth, I have used the Cobra Monaco Pro's. Fit is great, not too wide and plenty of leg room, with their tracks I cant push them all the way back and I am 178cm tall (about 5.10 for the US guys), the only down side is the cost, Revolution Race Gear carry them in Perth but you may be able to pick them up cheaper direct from the UK.

My seats are OBX daytonas. $420 for a pair and a nice fit in my buggy as you know.

What brand and style wheels are those? Where can you buy in WA or Aust?

The wheels are made by Performance Alloys in South Australia.

Hey, my old Deserter GS was shipped to you neighborhood late last year, somewhere in Perth anyway? Say hi if you ever see a yellow buggy with a mid engine Corvair in it.

scooterperth Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:55 pm

I will keep an eye out for it. Should stand out from the crowd.
