Anyone know the specs of this nut? I would just buy the replacement one but the threads on the generator axle are worn and I'd like to maybe use some sort of lock nut (unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't).

| Straighten those threads or you will have nothing but grief probably at the most inopportune time. There are rethreading tools and chasers but one for the same size as the generator shaft might be hard to find. Try asking a well supplied VW shop if they have one you could borrow for a few moments. |
