you have to change the flywheel, oil pump and add a clutch tube if you don't have one. There are a few posts on the forum, but I forget the titles of them, look around and you will find several posts with sites to check out

You also need a complete pedal cluster, shift lever and shift rod swap.

I did it, here's my earlier posting on the subject.
Add a manual pedal cluster to the listing, and it's accurate:

I did the converstion on a '69 ghia hardtop.
It didn't require anything monumental.
Needed:
Proper length shift rod, I used a beetle rod.
Standard shift lever and base plate.
Shift coupling.
Clutch cable tube to be installed
Bowden tube and clutch cable
Manual transaxle

I used 3/8" copper tubing to make a clutch cable tube. The bracket for welding a tube at the factory and the hole at the rear of the tunnel were already present in my ghia.
Just used hose clamps to attach the front end of the tubing to the weld bracket, and another hose clamp at the rear of the tunnel to keep the tube in place. Installed the bowden tube, put in the transaxle, and Viola'.
Worked perfectly.
