Hey I am new to the VW bug. I just needed to know if I can put 94mm cylinders and pistons on the stock block from a 67 bug. Well any infromation would be really helpful I do realize I am going to have to put different heads on no matter what happens. If I cant use the same block which block would I want to het and where could I find one well thank you for your help.

| the stock case from a 67 bug is a poor candidate for overboring- it is a single relief engine, and the case wasn't meant to handle much horsepower. In any event, it is not a simple bolt-on- you will have to have the case bored out to accept the bigger cylinders. If you are going to build an engine, get a new case, or find a good used AE case (early seventies 1600) to start with. Go to the performance forum for more info. |
