I got a 34-3 solex, Im currently attempting to adjust it, I've checked aussiebugs page and i put the fast idle adjuster to where it needs to be (1/4 turn past touching the bottom of the cammed adjuster), i also set the volume control screw 2 1/2 turns out from when it stops, now this i where im stuck, it says to start the car, my car will turn over for a sec then die, my question is where does the bypass srew need to be while starting the car, if it doestn't matter i think i may need to clean the carb, or am i doing something wrong, any help would be much appreciated.

is the electric Idle soleniod (left side of the carb) hooked up and "clicking" when the key is turned on?, is it tight in the carb body?
or you may have a piece of debris in the 'pilot jet' ( right side of carb just down /behind the choke, pull it out and see if the small hole in the end is blocked) |

| ok it clicks and the pilot jet is clear, after some tinkering i can get the car running on the bottom of the cammed adjuster if i screw in the idle screw adjuster more, a lot more about 5 turn from when it first touches, does this really make a difference how far it goes in? and when i get the bottom one adjusted right and it move up to the next cam it gives me those hiccuping backfires, it seem im only able to adjust the carb to one cam then it hiccups when it moves to another, is this timing or still the carb? |
