Hi,
I need a new fuel injector plug. I got one from Jbugs and i think it will not work. The pic on the top is the one i need and the one on the bottom is what I got. The white plastic one is the one i am looking for. I have looked everywhere. Does anybody have any ideas? It is for a 71 Square auto FI.
Thanks
( OK, the pics wont work for some reason) |

I have the same prob. I nned injector connectors and the only local source is crazy. I have taken a look at then and you can get away without the connector. just get some 1/8th inch spade connectors and solder then in and use heat shrink tubing to cover the connector. slide on the spade in the injector and go. |

I've done this in a pinch to get a car running, but the vibration on the push-on will loosen it very quickly, causing poor running and missing. That plastic connector isn't just to grip for removal/insertion, but also to protect the electrical connectors from stress. |

I think i have the ev1 pigtail, but it doesn't seem to connect right. I will have to investigate further. Thanks for all the advice. |

damn thats a good find, ya type 3's use some unobtanium connector, type 4's use regular ole EV1's.
Supa ninja edit: I take that back, http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto/parts/77/volk...3593=57826
looks like on of us would be getting the wrong part.
here's a better pic of a EV1, tell me if thats what type 3's use http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/fuel-injector-pigtails-bosch-ev1-p-48.html |

the ev1 connector is the connector that the modern injectors use and will not fit the t-3 injector. the listing I found looks like an EV-1 with a strain relief boot.
damn... |

That kind of looks like them. I'd like to see a better pic of the plug.
AutoAtlanta (a Porsche 914 parts supplier) has them (along with a couple of others like the 3, 4 and 5 terminal) in stock, along with the rubber boots for them. Just be aware you'll pay Porsche prices for them. |

I told you about them back when you were first starting your harnesses. I think at the time you were sourcing them from something else though (rabbits?)
My dad gave me one of their catalogs, and I looked thru it for both t-4 parts, and D-Jet parts. |

Uh...yes...it will. With very slight mods it plugs right on and is about 1000% better connectivity than the crappy original equipment plugs. I think I have written about 1000 posts on this. Ever wonder why they never used this connector system with any other fuel injection system...ever...ever...ever?
The L-jet connector in that picture is what I use on all of my D-jet components...except the TVS. Ray |

C'mon man!.... :D You didn't know about Automobile Atlanta? I keep telling you guys to start researching EVERYTHING that used D-jet. Type 4 and 914 used D-jet with virtually no differences in parts whatsoever.
By the way...the two pin plugs for D-jet you guys are searching for were used all the way through the early to mid 90's in the tail light, steering column connections, underdash connections for post mounted brake switches and blinker light assemblies of rabbits, golfs, jettas, volvos, audi's.....etc...etc.
They can generally be ordered through the dealer.
I still wouldn't use them. Ray |

shit bob if you did I somehow missed it, I don't remember that at all.
I looked all over at mercedes and porsche parts suppliers and nobody had them, but AA actually REPOPS them so i guess they are the exclusive supplier.
either way, makes my life a hell of a lot easier! though at their markup I'd have to increase my price just a tad, just in parts the harness with boots comes out to like 200-250 per harness. |

That's still a good price Joe. I know I paid Jeff a hell of a lot more than that for my new harness. But the new boots will make the harness more professional looking. 8) |

Nobody HAS them...but they can all get them. Take them a part #. Go to the junkyard and look in some of the places in these cars that I mentioned. Find a plug....tell the delaer what part its attached to on what year car....they can get them for you.
In these areas though ....none of these plugs used boots.....so that they won't have. Ray |

Ray.... I don't think that post made any sense.
they can get the boots... but they didn't use boots....?
anyway. they cant. Dont you think I gave them part numbers and hounded the shit out of them to see if they were order-able? I must've gone to or called 30 places across the country looking for those-- which is why im so stoked I can get these re-popped ones. LOL when I went to the VW dealership in SD, i went in with a box of pigtails and boots and the wiring diagram and photos -- they had to dig out the paper catalogues and none of their suppliers had them. I'm not surprised, these new ones arent from an OG supplier. AA has them made for them. |
