Lownslo69 THANKS! Im trying to do my best. Hopefully I'll get her rolling soon! Thanks for ure wishes, I still got a lot of work ahead of me.

dfusion001 Thu Apr 28, 2011 12:14 pm

Tyzel, Dude thanks! Rados were always my favorite car. I had one before I never got around to fix it and make it nice. Sold it to ma cousin and he got it looking like a show car! SO, i bought another one Ha!
I was a noob at it too at the time and the people @ Vortex forums were the worst! Bunch of envious kids with 5yr old mentality...But i learned and now, well its not looking too shabby....So i moved over to the Aircooled scene, Ha!

tyzel Thu Apr 28, 2011 4:44 pm

Hey Fusion, yeah I think you'll like the air scene alot better, been involved in this for about 18 year's now (since I was 15), yeah it's got it's hater's here too, but nothin like Vortex, all those guy's do is hate on each other and talk shit, keyboard warriors all of em! If i'm not in my bug, you'll see me in my TT rollin low on coilies, debating on whether I want to put the staggered 18" Porsche wheel's I have sittin here on it, either way I love it man. Rado's are sick, mk2,mk4 gti's are dope man, love new wave Audi's, there's a good crowd out there in Florida for both air and water, I know Sean L is out there in the FL, he's prob got the sickest rado to hit the street's! Can't go wrong in a bus though, once you start drivin it, you'll know what I mean, and all these guy's on hear will tell ya. The Samba guy's are super helpfull if ya got ?'s, they all love to see these cars on the road no matter what condition, i'd say the aircooled guy's are a more tight nit group of people then pretty much any other scene.

dfusion001 Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:08 pm

Tyzel Dude, send me a pic of ure TT I'd love to see it! TT's are sick! Yeah Sean has the illest Corrado around really...Everybody hates on him for sure! I'm all for it, if u can roll like that, thats dope! Hey rock them Porsche wheels if u can on those coilies!
Yeah man I hope i can find here a good Aircooled fam, Im done with Vortex and haters...I mean theyre everywhere but Ive seen that people here are more bout a good community of people getting these legendary vehicles on the road, so thats cool!

tyzel Fri Apr 29, 2011 12:44 pm

here ya go, kinda a crappy pic, it sittin a lil higher than i like in this one but it corners better at this height, i'm sure the Porsche wheels will end up on there, gotta get the offset jus right though, stuffin the 10" rears is gonna be a tight fit.

dfusion001 Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:27 pm

Tyzel-Dude, thats freaking sweet!!!!! That TT is dope, but for sure them Porsche wheels will set it off! 10's in the rears are pretty wide, but my Rado holds 9.5, so u should be ok i think....

dfusion001 Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:31 pm

OK folks, as promised here's a few pics of stuff ive been getting since the NoDoughBusSHow...
First, a sweet str8 axel kit

The a front bumper that i got at the show for $30 ( cant beat that i think) The over riders have to be fixed but thats no sweat...i'll get to it when i put it on..

Rear bumper with serious patina ( or crust...haaa)

Im still battling if i should roll with the patina look, OR grind these down to the metal and repainting them white...please cast your votes!!!

tyzel Fri Apr 29, 2011 7:25 pm

Hey man, thanks, yeah the TT is my baby, love that car. I got it worked out to fit the 10's with minimal poke just barely clearing the rear shock. Post up a pic of the Rado, Id like to see that, if ya want. As far as the bumper's, I say roll as is man, kinda fit's the look of your bus ya know, if ya don't like em you can alway's pull em an paint em down the road.

dfusion001 Fri May 06, 2011 9:00 am

tyzel Thu May 12, 2011 9:50 pm

making some progress man, word up! how ya likin the "air" side so far?

dfusion001 Thu May 12, 2011 10:17 pm

Thanks man! Just a little progress, but hopefully this next week I want to kick it into gear! Hopefully I'll finish the back end... Im thinking of primer and painting the underside, but, i dont know...what u think? I dont have a lift or a rotisserie, so its gonna be tough... I might just CRL it up a bit and roll as is... just figured since I got the front and back end looking nice, might as well but... it might be difficult, lol...
Well, the "air" side...well I cant complain really...I'm a noob so, it's all good!
No bashing at least! ha! But i cant complain...
How U been? U getting any progress on that bus??

tyzel Mon May 16, 2011 7:37 pm

Yo man, hows it goin? Yeah havent gotten much done to the panel lately, been pretty busy with other shit, I did get all the bondo off the nose last week and got that in primer, trust me it was alot, that nose is pretty trashed.

You get that back end done? hows the underside look? it does suck bein on your back under there, I started to clean up my frame and whatnot a lil bit, seriously sucks!

Keep at it man, that thing will be rollin soon for sure.

Jerry Mon May 16, 2011 8:10 pm

More pics please!

dfusion001 Mon May 16, 2011 8:19 pm

Yo Tyzel! whats good bro! Dude m glad u tackled that nose, from the pic u sent before I saw there was a lot of bondo in that piece. Thats cool, thats progress fo sho. 8)
I've been busy with work so that back end is getting tackle this weekend. I went thru a lot of my Rado spare parts and sold them this past week to stash up for that Bus engine! Hey what did u clean ure underside with? Pressure wash? any cleaning liquid? Cause thats all going down this weekend!
I still gotta order the shocks, tie rods, drag link...argh! lol but i'll get there! I'll have more pics this weekend to share, laters!

tyzel Mon May 16, 2011 9:51 pm

Yeah work suck's, takes up a good part of my week! Yeah that nose is gonna need help for sure, in time, no hurry really, this bus hasn't seen the road since 78 so I guess some more time won't hurt. As far as the cleanin, wire wheel man, tryin to get all the surface rust off the bottom, or at least most of it, other than that the underside is pretty solid, got all the typical rust in other places though, boo.

I hear ya on sellin off some stuff ya aint using, I usually dont have much to sell off cause I don't keep much layin around, I do have 2 40horses sittin there though :D Tryin to get a 67 bug tranny an 1500 off this guy I know, he's savin em for me, jus gotta get his baja runnin for em, cool with me! Be good for the bus.

So how ya like wrenchen of the bus instead of the Rado? It's crazy man, I can do alot myself on the bug or bus, when it comes to the Audi, shit, pain is the ass jus changin oel man.

dfusion001 Mon May 16, 2011 10:13 pm

Dude U lucky dog having them 40 horses just laying there! M hustlin everyday just find one around my way!
And yea that 67 tranny is the way to go I heard! I got my back end referred from the guy who sold me the bus, I dont really know what the 67 tranny supposed to look like but he said that tranny would do me right, and shiet it came already all together witht he str8 axel kit and drums so, Imma give it a shot. :D
So a wire wheel huh? wow, thats gonna take a hot minute to do the whole underside lol Guess my weekend is booked!
Thats cool too that u have some friends around with VW's. I just got my buddy JOhnE ROdz but he's busy getting his on the street...its a 67 beetle, pretty sweet. When he's done, he's gonna jump on mine he said.
Yo I aint gonna lie, wrenching on the bus is sweeeeeet! very straight forward and simple (for the most part) . I Changed the oil last week on my Rado, shiiiiiiiiiet dude, what a hassle.. yeah, im loving the Air-Cooled side ha!

tyzel Sun May 29, 2011 9:35 pm

Yo Dan, where's the progress pic's at? You havin too much fun drivin it or what?

dfusion001 Sun May 29, 2011 10:01 pm

Dude, I wish! Ha...I've been working a lot lately and been helping ma bro in law get one of his cars on the road (since he helps me out, it's only right to return the favor, u know what I mean) but I have some progress, just haven't taken any pics! M a bum I know! But I bought an engine last weekend, a 1600 Dual port, so m stoked :D also bought everything for a new break job (cylinders, soft and hard lines, shoes, everything) I'll take some pic tomorrow and hit u up. and Yo ma bad I never got back to u bout them wheels. I felt like shit cause I had sold them like a day prior from u sending me that email! I woulda rather hooked u up with those, for real!
But tomorrow i will post some pics, then immature be looking for some replacement metal to start that soon. There isn't much but I can't wait to tackle that. While that gets done m having a buddy make my 1600 engine into a 1700.(shave heads and what not) the dude is sick and has a badass vw shop here in Otown. Anyhow, I'll hit u up to tomorrow...what new with u my friend????

66ratrod Fri Jun 03, 2011 10:11 pm

Hey, that bus has been sitting in my friend's VW parts-yard since I moved back here.
I'm glad that it's finally getting restored, it was way to nice to just rot away or be parted out. Good luck with the restoration, it will be nice to see that thing moving under it's own power again :D
(BTW, i took the air scoops off of that bus. I'm not using them anymore, so you can have them back if you want   )
