Is it a deluxe model or standard?
You need one like this, not the football shaped one. That was earlier than November.

late 49 is 50 model, same until 52 split, even seen same on early zwitter 53 standard

Late 49 is still 49 not a 50 model. That only started in Aug 55 for the 56 moadels.

Hello. Is it really som that VW stopped using the football mirror 1. st of May 1949? In that case I don t need to search for the football mirror for my 3 rd of june std 1949 VW, I have the same mirror as on the car pictured here(rectangular mirror).Bt |

| June of 49, If your gas tank reserve is offset to the right just above the passenger`s feet then you need a football mirror and don`t get taken for one of those mirrors that look like vw out of a Ford. |
