| How hard is it to put a 1600 dp in a 74 412 2dr fasty..... i have been pondering doing this with mine i absolutely love this car and hate to see it just sit is there a manual or guidbook for such A conversion .... |

| Why not just rebuild the engine it came with...which is far and away much better and more reliable than a 1600 dual port would be in this car...especially since the sheet metal would not fit corrrectly and neither would the cooling and intake air boots. Ray |

| Maybe the engine is missing? This is very common. If it is there, though, I think Ray is right, you should try to rebuild. Or at least refresh/patch the engine back together or maybe adapt a 914/ bus version of the engine. I'm not very knowledgeable, but I can envision quite a few fabrication obstacles to putting in a Type I. I think a 2dr. sedan weighs about 2381 lbs.-not exactly light by ACVW standards. The engine bay has quite a bit of height in there, though, so that is one plus if you absolutely must! Porsche 6, Type I, and Subaru have been done, so it is possible if you are determined. |
