| I am trying to set timing on my 1974 type 4 engine. My timing light isn't flashing on no 1 plug wire; however, it does flash on no 4. Timed by ear while rpm's were at about 3k. Idles nice. Runs awful. I have a 009 distributor. Spark at all four cylinders. I thought it was the timing light and I'm on my third one with the same problem. Why won't it flash on number one? Questioning whether the distributor drive gear is 180 out... any other suggestion would be great! |

| Figured it out, after endless trouble shooting. The coil cable had a short, much better now and engine is timed. |
