| Thank you. I will surely check the date stamped behind the unit. It does look like it is in fairly good condition. I may choose to leave it, ofcourse after a good cleaning and checking out. As far as the lighter I really do not like where it is located and will more than likely remove it. If I keep the fuel gauge where would it be in relation to the steering wheel? Thanks for any advise you guys have. |

Ok so I had a few minutes and jumped in the back of the trailer and took a bunch of pictures. With this post I am concentrating with the interior. The color of the car was origionally black and I was told with a red interior. The door cards are red but once the old seat covers were removed this is what I found. The only thing I can come up with are the seats are not origional to the car, yet they look right. Any thoughts.
This is the swatch I removed from the seats. |

The rear was cut to accept a later model engine. Was glad to see it was origional but sad to the fact that someone decided to cut it. Also there are cuts on each side on the lower fire wall, I have not idea what the object was for these cuts.

I think the firewall was cut to clear the heater boxes of a later motor.
Great post, keep up the good work!! |

As everyone else said, great find!
My car had a very similar thing done to the firewall, which were bent back to help fit a later 1200 motor! |

I find myself in the back of that trailer alot. Had to snap off a few more photos today. Some belly shots are in order here. I believe this pan is in fairly good shape, ofcourse a good cleaning will give away many secrets.

Trying to figure this one out. It is a clean tear in the door skin.

Door jams as well as the front of the heater channels. The drivers side front is a bit crusty but the channels do not need to be replaced, well as far as I can see. Just a patch or two. Do they make patch panels for heater channels?
I think I got pretty lucky here. |

kdfwagon wrote: I have since aquired a correct engine manufactured within 2 months of the car. The engine was found in the woods near Winchester, Virginia. I am including pictures. I plan on tearing it down to the bare case and taking it along with me the next time I travel to southern Cal to make a visit to Rimco. Have the case machined as well as the one head to try to aquire a match. Case savers are a must. Gotta alot to do her

| Ok Valentinesr, now I am totally confused about the year. The title says 1954, the car has semaphores and a batwing steering wheel...could this be 1955? Are you suppose to ignore the 1-0 and look at just the 810984? Looking at the VIN chart the body stamping does match Feb. 1955. I am totally confused. Both body and pan match though. |

Interesting you have an oval "speaker delete" in your spare tire area. It looks like the previous owner made their own access panel or perhaps lost the original access panel. The correct panel is fairly reasonable to pick up.
Now, the speaker delete is a very cool item not often seen. Its used to fill the void in the dash when a radio is not ordered. Look towards the bottom of your spare tire well for the panel with a large "X" stamped on it, thats the speaker delete. What should be there is a much smaller round panel. Very cool! Trade you? :) (I have the correct panel that you need)

1955s are a special good year to have.. Yes your 1955 is considered an early.. Pretty much the same configuration as a 1954.. with a few minor changes that you will have to look out for.. Such as the infamous "Tail Lights".. Which ones to run for the month of February.. Theres Hearts or Eggs.. Im sure one of the guys will square me away on which is which to run in February.. but still a nice score brotha.. What information does the title say? I mean.. as long as you can register it.. Roll with it.. |
